Jane is a San Diego native who received her bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley with an emphasis on Human Biology. After graduating, Jane worked as a 5th-grade teaching assistant and an 8th-grade science teacher at a private school in San Diego. Feeling compelled to make meaningful change in her community through the healthcare field, Jane returned to school and received her Master of Public Health at UC San Diego, which she completed in 2022. As a graduate student, she researched international physical activity policy with the Global Observatory for Physical Activity. Seeing how the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of community health and reducing disparities in healthcare, Jane was inspired to pursue a concentration in health behavior and focus her courses on health education, promotion, and communication. Jane joined the Cayenne Wellness Center team to use her background in education and public health research to help people affected by sickle cell disease live healthier lives.
