Jazmyne was inspired to join the healthcare field when recognizing the value of CHW positions after the completion of her Community Health Worker Certificate with the Los Angeles County of Education. She firmly believes compassionate care leads to better outcomes, and that uplifting, educating, and advocating for underserved communities is a vital step in closing the gap between equality versus equity. An alumna of California State Polytechnic University, with a BS in Communications, she is passionate about using her interpersonal background to help health care and social service systems use more culturally relevant language and literature to help better educate and influence communities. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at Azusa Pacific University, specializing in Health Promotion/Education & Social/Behavioral Science. She is committed to viewing individual health in a holistic manner, focusing on not just physical, but mental, social, and spiritual needs. She loves immersing herself in new cultures and is in a committed relationship with her passport. She enjoys music, cinema, dancing, and exercising outdoors. Jazmyne was drawn to Cayenne Wellness Center because she is heartfelt about helping and advocating for those who have what could appear to be invisible illnesses, such as SCD and also ones caused by mental health. She is excited to be working alongside an honorable team that holds the same values in striving to create a better world, one community at a time.
