Olivia Chen is the lead study coordinator for the NHLBI-funded program Sickle Cell Disease
Implementation Consortium at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital – Oakland (BCHO). She coordinates all aspects of implementation research studies focused on improving the quality of care for patients with sickle cell disease. Additionally, she oversees data acquisition and participant interactions, including screening and obtaining informed consent. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in statistics and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 and has been working at BCHO ever since. She is passionate about psychological research, specifically the mental health of marginalized populations and evidence-based interventions for stigma reduction.
