It is our mission to increase the quality of life for individuals diagnosed with sickle cell disease in California by ensuring expert, unbiased, and comprehensive care. We have learned over the years that having a well rounded nutrient-dense diet is critical to managing symptoms and limiting complications caused by sickle cell anemia. And medical breakthroughs such as hydroxyurea have allowed individuals diagnosed with sickle cell anemia to live normal lives.

Newborn Screening
Cayenne Wellness Center is proud to be a sub-awardee of the HRSA Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program | Grant No.: SCDAA-NBS2017, with numerous newborn screenings completed.
Facilitating Treatment
There have been many sickle cell studies that have been used to improve the quality of life for Warriors. New treatments are being discovered and tested in clinical trials. We have facilitated treatment for countless Sickle Cell Warriors in the state of California.
Providing Advocacy
Our priorities are: to improve outcomes for individuals with sickle cell disease legislatively; to advance SCD and SCT through education; and to provide resources and care coordination services. We have successfully advocated for hundreds of families.
