Are you aware of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)? SCD is a genetic disorder that affects millions of people globally, and it is particularly prevalent in Africa and its diaspora. In America, SCD affects around 100,000 people, and the prevalence is higher among African-American and Latino communities.

To raise awareness about SCD, Cayenne Wellness Center and Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness San Francisco (SCAASF) are hosting a virtual Join our Virtual MiniSeminar Part 1 on Sickle Cell Empowerment on Sickle Cell Empowerment. The event will occur on February 10, 2024, at 11 AM PST. The seminar features Antwan Capla, Vice President of Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness San Francisco (SCAASF), who will moderate the discussion. Adrienne Shapiro, Founder & Executive Director of Axis Advocacy, will discuss sickle cell empowerment.
