Compassionate Community Health Worker (CHW)

Dorothea Dorio

Hello, my name is Dorothea Dorio, and I am a first-generation Italian American who was born and raised in San Diego, California. From a young age, I discovered that my positive attitude and genuine desire to bring smiles to others’ faces were my driving forces. This realization led me to pursue a career in caring for and assisting others.

I embarked on my educational journey as a medical assistant, where I had the privilege of working closely with individuals, helping them manage their health and navigate the healthcare system to access the benefits they need. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with military families, particularly in women’s health, where I played a vital role in the Centering Program, providing assistance and guidance in family planning.

Throughout my journey, I also took on the responsibility of being a caregiver for my mother. This experience allowed me to apply my passion for health and nutrition in educating her and successfully managing her diabetes through diet and exercise alone.

Continuing my education at United States University, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in health science with a focus on gerontology. This further deepened my knowledge and passion for caring for and assisting people,

My journey has now led me to the Cayenne Wellness team, where I am thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives of our patients. I am dedicated to guiding and supporting them through their unique journeys, ensuring their well-being and happiness.

I am excited to bring my professional expertise and compassionate nature to the team, and I look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of those I have the privilege to serve.
