Travis Silvers is a second-years Master of Social Work (MSW) student at California State University, Northridge. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Travis graduated with a bachelor’s in American studies and Ethnicity and Psychology from the University of Southern California. Travis spent 9 years in Brazil involved in grassroots sports and youth development programs serving youth ages 12-24 from underrepresented communities. Travis has spent 15 years working in corporate America holding leadership and business development roles across several industries which allowed him to develop strong skills in communication, relationship building, leadership, and problem solving, but his desire to return to more meaningful, community-centered work ultimately led him to pursue a career in social work.

Now completing his second year in the MSW program at CSUN, Travis is developing his clinical skills and expanding his experience working with individuals and families. He is particularly interested in providing compassionate mental health services to historically underserved communities and using his diverse professional and life experiences to help clients.
