Description
Artist: Traci Caudle who goes by Trai icarT
Bio: Around the same time, Trai icarT was diagnosed with Sickle Beta Thalassemia, she discovered a passion for the arts as early as 5 years old. A few years later she was accepted into the Skills Enrichment Program and Gifted and Talented Program (G.A.T.E.) of Pasadena Unified School district. Through these opportunities, she was encouraged to cultivate her craft and took an interest in fine art. Trai studied Studio Art at Pasadena City College and later decided to travel to study many famous art pieces up close. She has traveled to over 16 countries to immerse herself in the arts and culture of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Her artwork typically consists of acrylic paint, Moroccan pigment, gold leaf, fabric, and other contemporary applications. She draws her inspiration from her many travel adventures, current events, and life as a sickle cell warrior. Trai has shown her work at several exhibitions across Los Angeles and was awarded Best Artist at the 2019 Axis Advocacy Art & Film Festival. She hopes her art will continue to evoke new ideas, portray the essence of expression, and inspire others to pursue their wildest dreams no matter the obstacle.
The description of the painting:
This abstract depicts the convoluted experiences we face inside our bodies and in everyday life:
Through sickle cell, I must know courage
I have persevered through the odds,
To know love is to care for myself and others
Through triumphs and tribulations, I am stronger
Forever I am a Warrior for Life
